Professional Backstory
I am a clinical psychologist (PSY 23935) specializing in working with life issues such as stress, relationship difficulties, depression, divorce, parenting challenges, and life transitions. My approach is evidence based, pragmatic, present-focused, and collaborative, with an emphasis on helping people get unstuck and create more meaningful lives.
I spent several years working at Lyra Health, overseeing the coaching program and managing coaches to deliver care to employees of large Silicon Valley technology companies. I also worked on-site as a therapist, supporting high-achieving employees with challenges like perfectionism, work life balance, and workplace issues.
I have been trained in evidence-based therapies including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy skills (DBT). I have attended or received training from these hospitals, clinics, and institutions:
- Stanford University Counseling Center
- Stanford Faculty and Staff Help Center
- Stanford University Medical Center – Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences
- PGSP-Stanford PsyD Consortium
- University of Michigan
- VA Palo Alto Health Care System
- Youth and Family Enrichment Services
I completed my post-doctoral fellowship at the Stanford University’s Faculty and Staff Help Center, and my pre-doctoral internship at Stanford University’s Counseling Center. My pre-doctoral clinical training and research included work at Stanford University’s Medical Center (Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences), the Palo Alto VA, and Family and Children’s Services in San Mateo.
Prior to graduate school at the PGSP-Stanford PsyD Consortium to become a clinical psychologist, I worked for high-tech internet start-ups in product management and corporate development (Lycos, eCircles, Guru Worldwide, WhoWhere.com). My passion is working with high-tech professionals on interpersonal relationships, professional development, overall malaise despite financial success, and work dissatisfaction, and I love helping people have difficult conversations, be more authentic, and do what matters most to them.
